1966, 1968-1971
In 1966 in his last start for Williamsport in the AA Eastern League, Nolan was scheduled to pitch 4 innings before boarding a plane to LaGuardia Airport to join the New York Mets. With a no-hitter through his four innings, manager Bill Virdon gave Nolan the option to stay in the game and catch a later flight. Nolan declined and proceeded to New York.
